Hello and a warm welcome to the Drama Unlimited Website.

This is a site created to give you the a chance to find out what the Group is about, what we are doing, what we have done in the past and what some of the past and present members look like! To move around the site please click on the masks above.

Drama Unlimited is an amateur drama society that was founded in 1977 and has produced shows nearly every year. The majority of the productions are now at The Bradford Playhouse, Bradford (Formerly The Priestley). These productions take around 6 months of rehearsal, twice a week to produce. This is due to the size of the production, just to give you an idea of the size for Cinderella 2002 we had -

• Over 100 cast members and dancers on the stage in the finale.
• More than 500 costumes throughout the show.
• Both the end of the first half and the Finale ended in a blaze of colour and pyrotechnics (big bangs, fireworks and dry ice!!).
• More than 2000 people came to see the show.

We also put a smaller production on in June/July time, Which most of the time has been one/two act plays.

We are ably assisted in these productions by the Bradford Metropolitan Concert Band and The Premier School Of Dance.

All the members give their time freely to meet the society's main objective, which is to raise monies for charity. You may ask why we give so much time and effort to do this, well it's a simple answer - it's fun and we have a chance to help other, less fortunate people at the same time. Hence our motto -

We are a friendly bunch (honest) and we always welcome new members. If you would like to -

Audition for a part - our audition nights are open to anyone over 16 and all parts are auditioned for by both old and new members. We have a rule that ANYONE can get a main part and not just existing members, if your the best on the audition you will be offered the part.

Backstage - we do our own lighting (follow spots), pyrotechnics, set design and can always use help moving sets during the week of the show.

Front of House - selling programs, raffle tickets etc.

Costume Production - assisting the production in designing and creating costumes.

General Help - if non of the above appeals but you'd like to help in others ways i.e. fund raising or advertising etc..
